Boulder County Jail Roster Reports
The official Boulder County inmate records source is the Boulder County Listing and Booking Reports page maintained through the sheriff's jail reporting system. It is not a plain HTML roster and it does not work like a profile directory. The county uses an embedded Power BI jail report with report pages for Search Inmates, Bookings, Listing Report, Releases, Historical Statistics, and Jail Population. The sheriff's office is led by Sheriff Curtis Johnson, and the jail report is the public path for people currently lodged at the Boulder County Jail.
The report should be read as a set of custody tables. Search Inmates is the fastest current-custody view. Bookings is useful when the booking number, booked date, arresting agency, or release date is needed. Listing Report carries broader fields, including physical description, court date, scheduled end date, bond amount, and pay-bond display. Releases helps explain why a person no longer appears in the current-inmate search. If the embedded frame does not load, try the direct report link, refresh the browser, or use a desktop screen where Power BI controls are easier to use.
The county announced the enhanced jail daily booking and listing reports page on November 15, 2024. That release says the newer report added or improved fields tied to inmate listing information, booking reports, sex or gender, sentencing status, ethnicity, race, arresting agency, length of stay, and historical jail statistics. The report itself still warns that the information is for general informational use and may contain inaccuracies or omissions.
The official listing and booking source is shown in the county screenshot from the Boulder County Listing and Booking Reports page.
The screenshot matches the report-based workflow: readers use the county report pages and the sheriff records process rather than an unofficial roster site.
Use Boulder County Inmate Search
Start with the county landing page rather than an unofficial inmate lookup result. The Power BI report has a Search Name control on the Search Inmates tab. The instruction captured from the report says to type any part of a name, then select a name from the list. Results appear below the slicer after a person is selected. To search another name, type over the prior name or refresh the browser. Column headings can be selected to change sort order, and each report page has a Reset Page button.
- Open the official Boulder County Listing and Booking Reports page, then open the embedded report or direct Power BI report.
- Select Search Inmates for a person believed to be currently lodged at the Boulder County Jail.
- Type part of the person's name in Search Name and choose the matching name from the list.
- Use Listing Report when the search needs inmate number, physical description, court date, scheduled end date, bond amount, or pay-bond display.
- Use Bookings for booking number, booked date, arrest date, arresting agency, charge, resolved reason, bond amount, and release date fields.
- Use Releases when a person was recently arrested but is no longer found in current custody.
- If no match appears, check spelling and partial names, then use the Records Division for older bookings or records not shown online.
For legal questions, the report directs readers to an attorney. For case reports, mugshots, or body-worn-camera footage, the same jail reporting material routes requests to the sheriff's records request portal. For older jail bookings, Boulder County points to the Sheriff's Records Division at 303-441-3600. No official Boulder County Sheriff inmate-search mobile app was confirmed in the research, so the web report, jail phone line, records portal, courts, and state or federal locators remain the verified channels.
Boulder County Roster Search Fields
The roster search controls are report controls, not a standard form with a first-name box, last-name box, and profile button. Search Name is the main current-custody search input. Report navigation matters because different tabs show different public records. A reader who only checks Search Inmates may miss a release entry, a booking number, or a wider Listing Report field.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search Name | Power BI slicer/search list | Unspecified | Type any part of the name, then select a matching name from the list. |
| Page navigation | Tab/page buttons | Optional | Search Inmates, Bookings, Listing Report, Releases, Historical Statistics, and Jail Population. |
| Reset Page | Button | Optional | Clears or resets report page state. |
| Column headings | Sortable table headers | Optional | Select a column heading to toggle ascending or descending order. |
Boulder County Inmate Record Fields
Boulder County inmate records in the public report are table entries. No separate public profile URL was confirmed. The inspected report fields did not include a mugshot, photo, pod, floor, cell, tank, date of birth, bond type, or per-charge bond breakdown. Those gaps matter because they keep the public roster from being mistaken for a full jail file, a court file, or an investigative record.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The inmate or booked person's name in the public tables. |
| Admission date | Current inmate admission date on Search Inmates. |
| Held agency | The agency responsible for the hold or custody entry where shown. |
| Booking # | Booking identifier on Bookings and Releases views. |
| Inmate Number | Inmate identifier shown on the Listing Report. |
| Booked and Arrest Date | Booked date/time and arrest date fields where the tab displays them. |
| Race, gender, hair, eyes, height, weight, age | Demographic or physical-description fields on the relevant report pages. |
| Charge or offense | Booking or listed charge field. The filed court charge may later differ. |
| Court Date | Scheduled court date on the Listing Report if available. |
| Bond Amount | Bond amount tied to the custody or booking record where shown. |
| Release Date and Resolved Reason | Release or resolution fields shown on release and booking views. |
Important: The public report fields captured did not include a housing unit, pod, floor, cell block, or mugshot/photo field.
Boulder County Jail Records Requests
The public report is not the route for every Boulder County jail record. The Sheriff's Records page and the official records request portal handle sheriff-held records that need custodian review or are not displayed in the roster. The report text specifically routes case reports, mugshots, and body-worn-camera footage to that portal. It also routes older jail bookings to the Records Division phone line.
Use a records request when the public report does not show the needed material, when a booking is older, or when the request is for a case report rather than a custody table entry. Include the full name, booking number if known, arrest or booking date, arresting agency, and the exact record sought. Colorado's Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. Section 24-72-301 and related provisions in Title 24, gives the records custodian a review role. No sheriff records fee table or processing-time chart was captured in the public pages reviewed, so current fees and timing should come from the portal or Records Division.
Boulder County Booking Process
A Boulder County arrest can become a jail record after a person is transported to the Boulder County Jail, processed through intake, and entered into the jail system. The DA County Court Division explains that a person arrested on a misdemeanor or traffic matter is taken to the jail. The public booking record can then show name, booking number, booked date, arresting agency, arrest date, charge, bond amount, and release date depending on the tab and status.
Bond Commissioners are a local part of the process. Boulder County says they interview adults charged with Colorado statutes or Boulder County warrants, run background checks, identify risk factors, use the Colorado Pretrial Assessment Tool, and help facilitate release decisions. The jail FAQ says newly arrested inmates who have not bonded usually see a judge within 48 hours of arriving at the jail, not counting weekends and holidays. Some cases, including domestic-violence arrests described by DA materials, may wait for judge review before bond is set.
Boulder County Jail Visits
Boulder County inmate records often lead families to visitation, mail, phone, and commissary questions. The local visitation rule is specific: the jail FAQ states that public in-person visitation has been suspended and that remote video visitation is used. Remote video and phone service route through HomeWAV, while deposits and commissary route through JailATM. The official jail FAQ should control if a vendor page and the county page differ.
| Service | Status or Route | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Public in-person visitation | Suspended per jail FAQ | Do not arrive for a social visit unless the jail confirms a current exception. |
| Remote video visitation | HomeWAV | Use the vendor route linked from the jail FAQ and check current rules. |
| Phone/video rates | HomeWAV rates | Use current vendor rates instead of old copied figures. |
| Deposits and commissary | JailATM | Officially linked by the Boulder County jail FAQ. |
| Attorney or professional contact | Contact jail directly | Professional access is separate from ordinary public visitation. |
Mail content should stay conservative because the research did not capture a complete official banned-items list. Use the inmate's exact name and booking or inmate identifier when available, and confirm the current mail format with the jail. Jail programs are also documented: county pages list education, recreation, religious services, substance-use programming, mental-health-related services, and volunteer-led services, but availability can vary by custody status and facility rules.
Boulder County Custody Fallbacks
The Boulder County jail roster covers county jail custody and recent booking or release reporting. It does not replace the Colorado Department of Corrections, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, courts, or VINELink. A person may begin in the county jail after arrest, then leave the county report after release, transfer, sentencing, or another agency hold. The Scheduled End Date field should not be treated as a guaranteed release date because credits, holds, court orders, and agency actions can change the outcome.

Boulder County Jail Facilities
Boulder County's secure jail roster centers on the Boulder County Jail. The other local facilities in the project map are important, but they are not all searched the same way. Joe Pelle Center is an alternative-sentencing and Community Justice Services facility. ICCS-Boulder and Longmont Community Treatment Center are contracted residential community-corrections facilities. No Colorado DOC prison, BOP prison, or ICE detention center was identified inside Boulder County from official facility lists.
